Natalie Brown is a Gemini-nominated Canadian actress best known for her starring turn in the hit CBC comedy “Sophie,” and the Guillermo Del Toro-helmed epic thriller “The Strain” on FX Networks, which garnered Natalie a Golden Maple Award for Best Actress in a US series. Her latest film “XX” debuted to unanimous praise at the Sundance Film Festival and has solidified Natalie as a “Horror Heroine” alongside Jessica Lange in Entertainment Magazine. She’s had recurring roles in SyFy’s “Bitten,” “Dark Matter,” “Being Human,” and will be guest starring in Amazon’s “Jack Ryan,” as well as “Schitt’s Creek” alongside Dan and Eugene Levy.

Natalie first fell in love with performing for audiences dancing in recitals and choreographing and acting in high school plays in her hometown of Timmins, Ontario. She spent summers working in catalogue in Canada, the US, as well as Asia, landing campaigns in countless magazines for Bonnie Bell, Max Factor, Vidal Sassoon, and became a recognized face in over 60 commercials for brands like Heinz, Baileys, and Yoplait, while earning tuition for her studies in Fine Arts at York University.

Her passion for people, performance, travel, and culture proved to be a springboard for her eventual career in film and television, and her sympathetic portrayals of many diverse, yet relatable characters. It also fuels much of her philanthropic work, which has seen Natalie volunteer for many important charitable initiatives both at home and abroad. The closest to her heart is the Canadian Breast Cancer Support Fund, a vital foundation that helps women emotionally and financially during treatment, because as their motto so poignantly states, “becoming cancer-free is anything but.” Natalie is thrilled (& more than a little trepidatious) to dust off her dancing shoes for the first time in more than 20 years, to raise money and awareness for this worthy cause, and team up with one of Arthur Murray’s finest teachers, Stephen O’Neill Williams. On Friday, June 16th, the ballroom at the Weston Harbour Castle is set to be Natalie biggest, and best stage yet!
